Week four on One Xerographica and Week two on Second Xerographica

Here is last weeks picture of the Xerographica #1
And now this weeks picture. You can see the curve in the bloom. Unfortunately, I did that. I thought it would straighten back up. At least it is still growing!
And here is the larger Xerographica that started budding last week.
Now look! After just one week.
I am enjoying making these pictures to preserve the growth of these blooms. I hope you are also.
Please "like" them on facebook or pin to pinterest.

Third Week on Xerographica Bloom and First on Another One!

I guess  you can whip me with a wet noodle since I did not post the 3rd week of Xerographica bloom cycle Saturday. I wasted the whole day yesterday laying around wondering why I felt so bad. But, today I am back to normal.

Look at these pictures from last week and today! Amazing!Don't you agree?
Sunday 8/31/14

Now look at last weeks. See the big difference? Isn't it interesting how a plant that is so slow growing can produce its bloom in a matter of a few weeks?
Last week 8/23/14

Now with only two Xerographica in stock the larger is now in the beginning stages of blooming. Earlier this week I noticed the center looked different. Now look!

1st week of bloom on this larger Tillandsia Xerographica. 8/31/14

Please keep watching and let other Tillandsia lovers you know watch also. Got a question? Leave a comment or email me. barb1839@ymail.com

Watch this Tillandsia Xerographica (SilverBeauty) as it blooms.

What a wonderful surprise when I found a bud coming up in one of my Xerographica!

It is developing very fast. It has been a week since I took this picture. And now look I just took this one today 8/23/14. See how fast it is growing?
The picture is a little light. It was made in 100degree bright sun.

I will take another one next Saturday. So be sure and watch the progress.

I fall in love with Tillandsia more every day.

What a great surprise when I came home from visiting my son and daughter-in-law over Independence Day weekend. When I left on Thursday this Brachycaulos was just beginning to blush. Three days later this is what I found. Needless to say I was speechless at the fast change.

Now look! Just five days later, I have blooms. WOW!

I fall in love with Tillandsia more every day.

Have you heard of Inchies? These are Magnets

Have you heard about inchies? They are cute little squares that are 1" square. Each one is decorated using the artist imagination.

What do you do with them? Well, I don't know. Too light for paper weights, Make a cute wall  hanging in a doll house.

My idea is to make them into magnets for  your fridge, or bulletin road. Below are pictures of some that I have finished.

Word of warning, if you try to take pictures of your inchie, don't put the magnets on first! This is the closest together I could get my. My magnets are very strong and they just kept pushing each other away.
Inchies!

These can be found on  Now Thats Unique.

A Wonderful Reason to Help Pets For Vets

Sometimes rescue dogs are rescued from abusive homes. The story below is about such a rescue. The rescued became a rescuer!
This is what makes this non profit organization so wonderful.
Please help! These veterans need you help. Emotional Injuries are just as bad and maybe worse than physical injuries. And if  you are a pet owner, you know how love and devotion you pet gives you. No questions asked.
If you don't need a hand knitted item from my studio, then go to Pets for Vets and donate directly to them. You can even donate using your paypal account. Be sure and put the hyphens in the address to reach the right organization.

A True Story copied from Pets for Vets website.

Alex served in the Army from 1989 to 1992 and was stationed in Germany when the Berlin wall came down. He suffered a spinal cord injury after falling from a four-story roof, which left him a partial quadriplegic. Alex has been hoping to receive a dog to keep him company when he is home alone. He also hopes that he will be able to give back to the VA Long Beach by training his dog to become a therapy dog.
It took awhile to find the perfect match for Alex. We found Roxy at Smashface Rescue and learned about her harrowing tale. Kyle of Smashface Rescue received a tip from the nieces of a man who was abusing his dogs. Kyle was able to secure Roxy and her seven puppies and remove them from the property. Roxy suffered major internal damage from all of the abuse she endured, including a ruptured spleen. After recovering, from her injuries she was ready for her “forever” home.
Alex and RoxyPets for Vets worked with Roxy to increase her confidence around people. She was also desensitized to a wheel chair and taught to walk next to it. Roxy’s favorite behavior was learning to take peanut butter from a long handled spoon so that her new Dad would be able to feed her too. She was quick to pick up basic obedience and not to bolt out of doors.
The moment Alex met Roxy for the first time, he was speechless. She sat on his lap to be cuddled and taken for a ride around the house. Roxy had finally found her family.
